-CENTRAL DOGMA-

The central dogma is a framework for understanding the transfer of
sequence information between sequential information-carrying biopolymers, in the most common or general case, in living organisms. There are 3 major classes of such biopolymers: DNA and RNA (both nucleic acids), and protein. In this article I will focus on the DNA Replication -> RNA TRANSCRIPTION -> RNA TRANSLATION. By the way, DNA replication is the process of copying a double-stranded DNA molecule to form two double-stranded molecules. RNA transcription is the process by which genetic information from DNA sequence is enzymatically copied by messenger RNA to produce a complementary nucleotide while RNA translation follows the triplet code in synthesizing a chain or amino acid that forms a protein.

Legend:
Transcription of DNA to RNA to protein: This dogma forms the backbone of molecular biology and is represented by four major stages.

1. The DNA replicates its information in a process that involves many enzymes: replication.

2. The DNA codes for the production of messenger RNA (mRNA) during transcription.

3. In eucaryotic cells, the mRNA is processed (essentially by splicing) and migrates from the nucleus to the cytoplasm.

4. Messenger RNA carries coded information to ribosomes. The ribosomes "read" this information and use it for protein synthesis. This process is called translation.

Proteins do not code for the production of protein, RNA or DNA.
They are involved in almost all biological activities, structural or enzymatic.

I was really fond on doing DNA Replication -> RNA TRANSCRIPTION -> RNA TRANSLATION exercises like this one;

Hehe, that's actually a page from my science notebook. It's a little bit blur so here the "soft copy":

DNA REPLICATION RNA TRANSCRIPTION RNA TRANSLATION

T A U A
A T A U
C G C G
C G C G
A T A U
A T A U
G C G C
G C G C
C G C G
G C G C
A T A U
T A U A
T A U A
C G C G
A T A U
G C G C
G C G C
A T A U
T A U A
C G C G
G C G C

In DNA REPLICATION;
A becomes T
T becomes A
C becomes G
G becomes C

In RNA TRANSCRIPTION;
A becomes U
T becomes A
C becomes G
G becomes C

In RNA TRANSLATION
A becomes U
U becomes A
C becomes G
G becomes C

RNA can not read T so it is ALWAYS being replaced with U.

At first, you will think it is kind of confusing or it is hard, but no,
all you need is focus and concentration...

After you fully understand the meaning of all this, you will have a very different view in life,
and all of the things that you never thought of before. You will think differently specially if you manage to tackle genetics (not only central dogma!!), all the living things, (even non-living things! )you will definitely adore them.

After learning many things in genetics, I have proven a lot of things like if you're pregnant and always drink coconut juice, your child will not turn into something like a coconut but you will have some similarities because it is in your genes and its full proven, maybe the punnet square is not that accurate but it can somehow give you an idea on what will your child be.

And that's the end of my blog.. Ego vobis valedico!!

[PS I will not learn all of these without the help of our teacher, Ms. Steh. = D] Haha, is this a letter? hehe
